It is. Coming home tonight I spotted
a drop bear:
... these terrifying creatures, a not so distant cousin to koalas but with sharp claws and fangs, generally hide in trees during the day, sleeping on the upper branches out of sight. But in the evening and throughout the night, they hunt by waiting for an unsuspecting victim to walk under the tree.
Even though its head and paws were tucked in under it, I noticed the subtly different colouring and the slight movement of its ribs as it breathed:
If you were here
you should not go near this tree after dark.
