I have been terribly busy this semester with a new simulation class, for which I had to prepare (Beamer) presentations (Beamer Presentations: Numerical Simulation of Dynamic Systems). I felt like I was swimming in an ocean trying to reach shore, and there was a big wave coming behind me that I tried to swim away from ... not something that is usually successful (!) However, I somehow managed the miracle! I finally completed my presentations ... about 1000 slides altogether.

Now, I have a few trips ahead. Today I am leaving for Ljubljana (Slovenia) for a series of presentations at the technical university there. I'll be back by Wednesday.

I don't know whether I shall have access to the Internet from there. I assume I do, but I am not sure.

Anyway, you may have noticed that I haven't been on-line as much as usually ... mostly just an hour or so in the early morning and another hour late in the evening. Now, you know why this was the case.

I expect my life to get back to normal after June 5.

I made it to Ljubljana in one piece, and I do have access to the Internet from my hotel room. However, I won't be on-line during most of the day when I am at the university. I shall only be able to check in during the early morning and late evening hours. Hence my responses will come a bit slowly over the next few days.

I am back in Switzerland now. Everything went according to plans. However, my travel activity is still far from over. On Friday (day after tomorrow), a former student of mine comes to visit from the U.S., and my wife and I shall take her down to the Engiadina valley for a 4-day weekend. I'll take my computer along, but won't have much time to use it. Shall be back home by Monday evening.

I am back home, but not for long. I am leaving Thursday afternoon for Paris for a research meeting. Shall be back in Switzerland by Saturday night, and thereafter my life should get back to normal for a while.

I am back home now. No more travel for several weeks. Good!

In a few minutes, I'll be leaving for Aachen. Shall be back tomorrow evening. I don't think I'll have access to the Internet for the next two days. I'll be mostly sitting in trains anyway.

I shall be leaving for a conference in Dresden tomorrow morning early. I'll be back home by Tuesday night. I doubt that I'll have much time to be on-line during this trip.
