can i participate on the basis of what songs are going round in my head? i have a near constant involuntary internal soundtrack. i hear a snatch of something or somthing reminds me of something else and i'm stuck with the same thing for days.

currently on the got to be there jackson five song. not sure of the title.

the most frustrating thing is it's just the chorus i've got in my head. no idea how the rest of it goes. oh the torment!

I'm listening to Billie Holiday singing Gloomy Sunday to see if it actually does make me kill myself. Out of curiousity mainly, not feeling particularly sad.

Well I wasn't til it started.

I remember when I was very small, my father telling me that the BBC had banned that song. Is that true?

We have a crackly little radio in the kitchen where we can listen to news and current affairs programs from the ABC (Australian equivalent to the BBC).

But on the web with stereo speakers and a woofer under the table, I most often listen to ABC web dig JAZZ program, which everyone else can too.

Our ISP provides several ABC stations, including this one, on unmetered feeds, so I listen for a lot of the time, at 128 Kbs. In the past it's been a web-only program but is in the process of moving to digital broadcast radio as well.

Right now it's running the Glenn Miller standard, "In the Mood".
