I live with my wife and an elderly cat in Newtown, a suburb on the western fringe of the City of Sydney, a district that was mainly settled in the 1880s with terrace houses for workers in the then nearby brickworks, tannery, brewery and other industries.

Since being retrenched some years ago from a US multinational which itself has now been swallowed by another one, I have not found another job. We live on a meagre but sufficient pension bought from former savings.

I know nothing about anything but Google helps me to find out when other people are wrong.
