Kidding asides, I can't say I am very good at identity and belonging but I do start to feel French when, after watching "Hornblower" (I quite liked the TV serie; Never read the books), I tried and read bits of the Sharpe serie. One of them in India was fine. The other, set during the 1815 Invasion of France, got on my nerves for its constant depiction of French as bumbastic idiots incapable of anything...

It is within their remit and within their power to direct the economy towards a more stable and more equalitarian model (although Europe is probably the smallest entity capable of pulling this off without too many costs)...
