Default The futility of expecting a Palestinian State

The Economist this week has this map of the Palestinian West Bank:

Even the areas under Palestinian control are divided into a patchwork by the Israeli-only highways to the Jewish settlements. Checkpoints manned by IDF soldiers control movement of Palestinians from one area to another. It is essentially the world's largest gulag.

It defies imagination to see how, with its current investment in settlements and infrastructure, Israel could ever be persuaded to leave.
