Unless most of those suicides occur in theater, people in the military have no more unfettered access to firearms than those outside it. And that Independent article is nearly three years old, so the 'last year' it references could be 2006or even FY 2006. contra is right, that's when deployment fatigue was around its peak, from my observation.

most who live off base own guns. Passed my asvab with room to spare, 84, 115 GT. Now that's over.

My recruiter is really pushing me to enlist as a medic. If I don't get into nursing school next semester I will. He says he has only one female medic slot in the whole state right now. Going to talk it over with the family and see if I can push the school to confirm my acceptence or not into nursing school. If I did that I would go back into rotc after training and do smp. I could use the money. I wonder if I can double dip with smp and $1500 nurse stipend.
