That is completely the wrong conclusion. What this guy was saying was that he DID have unrealistic expectations, created by porn. That thoroughly confirms my point. Yes, he was able to learn from that - lower class scum that he might be - but that doesn't justify the creation of a fake image of sex in the first place.

And naive-never-seen-any-porn people might be in for a bit of a shock the first time they have sex. They adapt. Big whoopee do.

Oh and I didn't say "scum". That'd be a value judgement.

Also, it's kind of insulting to Tabak's intelligence to assume he's functioning on the level monkey-see-monkey-do. I know when I finally flip out and kill someone for teh lulz it'll be because I decided it was worth it, not because I saw a nasty film the night before.

But I think it's fair to say that Tabak might have been influenced or triggered, just as Hinckley was triggered by Jodie Foster/Taxi Driver...

Obviously, here we are getting into discussing organised vs. disorganised (serial) killing - I guess it'd be far more difficult to establish the trigger of an organised killer.
