LOUISVILLE, KY (WDRB) –

Protestors taking part in 'Occupy Louisville' say they plan on sticking around for a while.

Nearly two weeks into their protest, the city is now letting protestors sleep in Jefferson Square Park, and they plan to take advantage of that decision.

It may lack the numbers, or the clashes with authorities, seen at other extensions of the Occupy Wall Street movement, but the Louisville chapter has been quietly making their point for the past two weeks.

"It can only get stronger from here. I'm really anticipating the momentum only getting faster," said Occupy Louisville member Jeremy Clark.

Helping that momentum, say organizers, is a permit acquired by the group late last week. Protestors haven't been able to sleep in Jefferson Square Park because it closes at 11 p.m. The permit allows them to stay overnight until December 31st.

"Once we got the permit, once they see that we have the support of the local government, once they see other people coming out, they're like, 'I want to be a part of this. I want my voice to be heard,'" said Clark.

Several people we spoke to said they weren't here for the beginning of the protest, but the longer it's lasted, the more they are attracted to it.

"I feel a lot of hope, I feel a lot of love. It's awesome," said Pamela Ludka.

"I've never met so many compassionate people, and people who are willing to help the community and fight for a change. It's moving me actually," said Gloria Akakeo.

As a sign that they're hunkering down for the long haul, they erected a larger tent Sunday. It will be used to store belongings. The group also says it's committed to keep the park clean.

"The momentum will continue to grow I think as people see what we're doing and see that we're committed to staying here as long as we need to," said Clark.

It's a commitment that will be tested as the temperatures begin to drop.

The group has agreed to not occupy the park during 'Light Up Louisville,' which will be held from November 25th through the 27th
