This was created through a contract managed by government officials, according to specifications created by them and as reviewed and approved by them. The only wonder is that it isn't utterly godawful.

OTOH, our reactions don't count. The reactions of the actual target audience, whatever it is (I'm thinking maybe 9 to 10-year-olds*) is what counts. But I can't say I'm optimistic....


*with the idea that maybe older sibs will pick it up and read the 'fact pages,' while the primary readers just skim them
