Then how come this one's being executed for just asking someone to commit a murder, while the guys who actually carried it out get away with life sentences?

Read the OP. Present at the shootings, procured her own underage daughter to arrange the thing...to my mind, she presents as truly evil and dangerous. Your mileage may vary.

Mind you, I'd say if she gets it, the shooters should too. At the political balance we're currently at, the bar for the death penalty is pretty high, and lots don't make it over that might have. Vagaries like this are one reason I don't favor the death penalty.

That's all I'm really asking for. The person who just ordered a killing shouldn't get a higher sentence than the people who did it. What's the age of consent over there? In the UK it's sixteen (in France few people know what it is, and most seem puzzled by why the concept should be important *rubs hands gleefully*) so the daughter'd be responsible for her own participation.

I guess she's less attractive than Beatrice Cenci too, which maybe doesn't help.
