The "hands-hammering-on-the-door" has been done countless times before. Seeing naked people gasping for air is a bit more "shocking"/original but, yeah - I am not sure it serves a great purpose.
You could actually argue it further desensitizes youth to actual human death and suffering.
Basically, I am not really that bothered if he puts the movie out but that starts to feel like "war porn" more than "rememberance" and I'll give it a wide berth. Personally, "Life is beautiful" shocked me by moving me aplenty. I haven't seen Schindler's List specifically because I think I know WWII history well enough not to need to be given an extra lesson by Spielberg. Similarly, I think "Defiance" is good but simply because it retells a story of heroism, not because of its graphism (It actually isn't very graphic. Just enough to be "realist" but the directors could have chosen to go a lot further - I am somewhat grateful they didn't).
OTOH, I have not seen the Saw serie so maybe I am not the target audience...
