Default Arab women <3 Baudelaire

This is possibly the most interesting thing I've seen on the internet all year.

It also goes a good way towards explaining why I hate people.

Also, I have to say that seeing the Tucker Max book on the Pacific Islander Male list pretty much permanently removed any desire I may once have had to go to Hawaii.

I had never heard of Tucker Max before!

That being said, I think Old School and Wedding Crashers were pretty hilarious so maybe I would enjoy his book? Arg, the self-doubt is killing me...

OTOH, I think OKtrend is a fan-tas-tic idea! I wish we'd see more data mining of this sort for other purposes...

His blog's really funny, I've never read the book. I've no wish to share an island with people who use it as a selling point on a dating site, however...

Gawds, it is awsome how out-of-touch I am. I did not recognize the name Jodi Picault, that is the big # 2 item on the girl list. Oh I looked her up, and she's the female Tom Clancy. That is, imagine a Tom Clancy who depends on some literary techniques besides stroking anger.

I am amazed to see Clancy atop the boy list, btw. Been a good while since he personally wrote a book, hasn't it?

The Case For An Older Woman OkTrends

That particular article doesn't say anything you wouldn't know. EXCEPT for women's attitude to contraception (Is contraception morally wrong?) and STD testing by age (How often do you get tested for STDs?). The interactive graphs are mid-article, btw.

It turns out younger women are for more conservative and unrealistic than their older sisters. Wow! Especially the one on contraception blew me away. I mean, I don't agree but I can see why people would be against abortion. But contraception?! I really cannot fathom how you could see that as morally wrong...

Clearly, the religious right has been quite successful in indoctrinating the young...

Looks like it's bad news for the gene pool, Gilles.

And just what the crap is going on in South-East Oregon and Maine? Once a day? I have times when I have trouble getting up once a day. I presume that central heating has yet to reach these places and it's the only way to stay warm...

The SE Oregon one I can explain. That blue swath is one county, desert country with a population of about 26. 23 of them are in a single poligamous sect family. The girls all wish for sex once a day because they can't get it. But the fundementalist attitude towards contraception there is reinforced by social advantages for women tied to fertility in such a culture.

I have no clue what's going on in Maine, though.
