Default Sydney winter

Just before midnight, temperature 16 degrees C, recent rain, but there are outdoor places to have a beer:

But if you want to go inside, you can:

The exposure there was 1/5 second. You can see how much someone moves in that time.

But I'm home now though, almost time to go to bed.

The pub where the photos above were taken is now closed due to an electrical fire in its basement the following day:

Still, we do the best we can, as there are another 20 pubs in walking distance. Or we can fixate on the pattern of rain and reflected light today on the road:

Or today, after the rain stopped and temperature got up to 18 degrees, it was good to be out:

I really like the shot about the reflective lights into the water, with the lone leaf... Excellent stuff! What I am jealous of is not winter but your skill!

It's the law of reversion to the mean. You throw away all the shit shots that reverted to the mean, and pick the few outliers - you don't see the ones that I don't post.

Here's another outlier; it's near enough to full moon here tonight:

I noticed today that there are green buds appearing and it is not yet even July. For the avoidance of doubt I am not staking a position on climate change (in fact today was one of the coldest days of winter so far with top temperature briefly nudging 14 degrees) but simply reporting what I saw this afternoon:

Of course there are plenty of reasons and plenty of places to come inside:

Rainy day today, middle of winter, top temperature 13 degrees, but if you looked, you could be reminded of the sun:
