Default Halloween

The tradition of giving demanding children candy laced with strychnine has never taken off in this part of the world, but the date does evoke various other events. The small Mexican community celebrates its Day of the Dead on 1-2 November:





This segues into the Walk of the Zombies (held last Saturday):









Pumpkins are not in abundant supply at this time of year, but cheap polystyrene ones are available for those who really want one:



And this afternoon I noticed this:



It was hanging from a street pole, and might give superstitious people pause for thought if encountered after dark.

I enjoyed my halloween, went to the gay club wit my ex and a friend (soon to be my new girl). Had a lot of fun.

I went and ate guotie and pretended to listen to a friend telling me about the power of positive thought, then sat at home re-reading Go away.

Tragically, it was the least sucky evening I've had in ages.
